As UK–EU trade requirements continue to evolve, demand for specialist customs support has accelerated, delivering a record year in 2025 and strong growth across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
During the past 12 months, 300 new customers including hauliers, freight forwarders and logistics operators were welcomed, resulting in more than 110,000 customs declarations being processed. Notably, the volume of declarations for goods moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland increased by 47%, underlining the continued importance of reliable customs expertise in supporting trade across the Irish Sea.
Sarah Louise Murray, Customs Manager, commented that the results highlight the growing complexity of cross border trade and the importance of specialist expertise in supporting businesses through regulatory change.
“We are using our longstanding expertise to provide guidance and support so our expanding customer base can navigate a constantly evolving customs landscape,” she said. “In the past year, we have increased our headcount by 25 percent and invested significantly in digitising our processes to ensure we are well positioned to manage new requirements quickly, efficiently and safely.”
Alongside customer growth, continued investment in technology has further strengthened digital customs capabilities. During 2025, SelfClear was introduced as a self service solution designed to give users greater control over their customs requirements. The platform enables customers to generate Goods Movement References and GB Safety and Security declarations independently, at any time of day.
In addition, FulfilClear was launched as a fully automated customs management solution for fulfilment providers moving goods between the UK and Ireland. The system streamlines exports, imports, Entry Summary Declarations, Pre Boarding Notifications and Goods Movement Reference generation within a single platform, incorporating CHED documentation where required. It is already supporting a leading supermarket chain with the movement of refrigerated groupage loads.
With customs regulations expected to continue developing across the UK and EU during 2026, further demand for specialist support is anticipated. The business successfully supported customers through the transition to ICS2 ahead of the mandatory deadline and provided consultation to help ensure compliance with the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
With more than 60 years of experience in the freight and logistics industry, the company continues to provide managed booking, customs and consultancy services to businesses navigating the complexities of international trade. Its operations are supported by award winning technology systems developed in house, including the all in one digital customs platform, Digicom.
