Meeting Customer Demand: A Landmark Year for Our Customs Solutions

By admindbcc on 6 February 2025

We experienced record demand for our customs clearance services across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe throughout 2024, as hauliers looked for support in navigating increasingly complex cross-border regulations and administrative requirements. Over the year, we completed more than 250,000 customs declarations, supported by significant investment in our IT infrastructure, office network and talent development, which helped us more than double our turnover.

“Customs clearance for the movement of goods is evolving at a rapid pace, and many hauliers are finding it difficult to keep up,” explains Colin Robb, Head of Operations & Sales. “By continually improving and adapting our cross-border solutions, we have become the partner of choice for a growing number of freight operators who need their shipments to clear customs efficiently, accurately and without costly delays.”

As part of our growth strategy, we expanded our office network with two new locations in London and Poznan and increased our headcount by more than 10 percent to ensure we have the expertise needed to support our customers. We also achieved Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, the internationally recognised standard for supply chain security, allowing us to benefit from simpler and faster customs procedures.

Throughout 2024, we further enhanced our digital platform, Digicom, to automate and streamline customs declaration processing for both imports and exports. Our new single-entry, one-click functionality enabled us to generate and submit multiple declarations simultaneously. Most recently, we used our advanced IT capabilities to launch a cost-effective solution for handling declaration requirements associated with the incoming GB Safety and Security (S&S) import controls.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate a record-breaking year. This success is a direct result of the hard work and commitment of our entire team, who continue to drive our business forward,” Colin adds. “With the customs landscape set to evolve further across the UK and EU in 2025, we see significant opportunities for continued growth as we support our customers through the changes ahead.”

We are ready for the next phase of growth and look forward to supporting our customers through the evolving customs landscape.
